"THE CITY OF EXCELLENCE" GLADYS MBILLA WRITES...

I'm a lonely traveler
Leading a one man army to
The war n world of the unknown
I know not where I'm going or how
I'll get there, but I do know, I'll get there.

Siblings have abandoned me
Parents have deserted me,
Friends have rejected me
As life have belittled me,
Making me a lonely traveler
On a journey to the city of excellence.

Where do I go from here?
How do I go from here?
With many belongings in my palm,
Loneliness, grief, sorrow and dejection?
My parents planted in mounds,
And my sibling buried in a pot?

Life is an unfair game where
You either win or lose, but
To lose at such cross roads
With no one to lead you on,
No mother of your own,
No father of your own, and
No one shoulder to lean on.

I'll get there, yes, I know I'll get there,
Where I can offload my belongings
Of grief, sorrow and loneliness,
Where I can get a shoulder to lean on.
Oh yes, I don't know how I'll get there,
But Heaven knows I'll get there,
With you and you and you, your blessings to lead me there.

I shall fight this war of a lonely traveler
Leading a one man army
To the war of the unknown, though
My feet are soar and my hands are feeble
Yet I know I'll get there,
The mounds of my parents are my shield
And the pot in which lies my brother is my rod to take me there.
To no other place but the city of excellence.
