DR. SEBASTIAN SANDAARE, MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR DAFFIAMA-BUSSIE-ISSA CONSTITUENCY RETURNS TO THE THEATER.

The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa constituency, Hon Dr Sebastian Sandaare has donated medical items worth GHC6,000.00 to the Daffiama Health centre. The items include drugs, gallons of bleach, liquid soap to mention but a few.

The items were donated during the annual Daffiama-Bussie-Issa medical outreach program which commenced on the 27th December, and will end on the 28th December, 2018.

The medical outreach program was started in 2010 with Dr Sandaare Sebastian as the main financier of the program. The team has so far organised successive programs across the length and breadth of the district including nine (9) general outreach programes.

Dr Sandaare said, while he acknowledges the numerous challenges that face the district in terms of healthcare, the donation was a direct response to the call from the facility prior to the medical outreach programme. “if out of necessity that clients are compelled to send prescriptions to the drugs store to buy drugs because there are no drugs at the facility, then we will not be solving the very reason why people visits the health facility”, the medical doctor cum legislator lamented.

The head of the facility who received the items, Mr Dery Sixtus thanked the Member of Parliament for the gesture and timely intervention. He however called on the government for timely reimbursement of insurance claims to safe the facility from collapsing, “we will always look forward for support from the member of parliament when the need arises”, Mr Dery concluded.

The program was well patronised as over 300 patients were being attended to by a medical staff numbering over 63. Dr. Sandaare was seen busily attending to some of the patients.

Interacting with some of the patients,  they mentioned that they were very happy that their own member of parliament was giving them treatment.

Dr. Sandaare also indicated that as a medical doctor,  he feels satisfied assisting the staff to take care of patients. He also described that "the best Christmas gift to the people of Daffiama-Bussie-Issa.

The program is expected to continue till 29th December,  2018.
