"I DIDN'T JOIN POLITICS TO BUY V8S" - Dr. SEBASTIAN SANDAARE.

The member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa constituency, Hon Sebastian Sandaare says he did not join politics to live an affluent lifestyle or buy luxurious vehicles and houses. He added that he is into politics because of the vulnerable, the poor and the needy. He made the comment while addressing students in this years' District Students' Union end of year program held in Bussie on Sunday, 30th December, 2018.

He reiterated his commitment to working with the union to raise educational standards and also by assisting students of all levels.

According to him, he wants to launch an educational fund across the constituency. "The educational endowment fund would be launched in every paramountcy to serve as a long term source of funding for brilliant but needy students." He stated.

The Bussie paramountcy has already benefited. The fund was launched last year with a seed capital of 10,000. This fund is being managed by the traditional rulers. However,
Issa, Daffiama, and Kojokperi Paramountcies are yet to have their shares of the educational fund.

He has also donated 1000.00 to students who performed very well in the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination. He also promised of sponsoring them to the university level. This has really thrown a serious challenge for others to study hard to benefit from the member of Parliament.

The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa legislator has been working with the Union leaders even before he became a member of Parliament, to address the many challenges facing education in the district.

The District Students' Union was sponsored to tackle the menace of teenage pregnancy in the District, improve standard of education,as well as ensure collective spirit among the youth. That is chalking remarkable success.

The collaboration between the member of Parliament and the Union has really imparted much in improving the falling standard of education.

Exams materials are given to every candidate before the Basic Education Certificate Examination. He also sponsors a special mock examination to help candidates prepare for the main examination.

Those interventions he believes are relevant in poverty eradication.

Dr. Sandaare is the main sponsor of the annual events of the Union and this years' program was not an exception.

Many of the students in the District are happy about the member of Parliament's aggressive interventions in the educational sector. They promise to also  work harder to enjoy those interventions.
