Covid 19: Hon Francis Bawaana Donates To Municipal Assembly

The Member of Parliament for Jirapa constituency, Hon Francis Bawaana has donated to the Jirapa Municipal Assembly through some Assemble members. He made the donation yesterday, 19th May, 2020. The items included;  2,000 Nose masks and 5,000 hand Sanitizers.

You would recall that on the 11th May, 2020, the Hon Member of Parliament donated some Personal Protective Equipments to the Municipal hospital as his interim intervention. Some Assemble Members who were present appealed to him to support them(Assembly Members) to also support their community members to fight the deadly disease call COVID-19.

The recent donation by the Member of Parliament, therefore, is in response to the call made by the Assembly Members.

Speaking to th media after the presentation, the lawmaker said he has his people at heart and will do everything within his capacity to help defeat the pandemic. He also urges every constituent to take the precautionary measures very seriously.

The Member of Parliament again promised to procure test Kids to help frontline workers in the constituency.

He also urge the Assemble members, to form a committee to be taken through some special training on COVID 19. He added that he is very much interested in intensifying public education. To make that effective, he  promised to make his car with mounted speakers available for the campaign against the pandemic.

Hon MCD ABDUL KARIM who received the items on behalf of the MCE thanked the MP for his continues support to the constituency. He however called on the MP to donate more to fight this pandemic. According to him, though some 25 out of 36 Assembly members formally wrote for the support, the remaining Assembly members will not be neglected. He promised the MP that the items will be put to good use for the benefit of all.
