CELEBRATING HON ISAAC DUNEE

It is a trite fact that a nation that does not honour it heroes, is not a nation worth dying for. It is important to eulogize individuals who have sacrificed their lives striving for the good of all. The greatest generosity of a man is not the one that gives him name or occupies him in historical literature. It is the one that anchors on legacy. A legacy that the marginalized, vulnerable and the entire populace of diverse social brackets appreciate.

Frankly speaking, our community has been blessed with so many intellectuals who have placed Fian on the map of the Upper West Region and by extension the entire country. We have occupied a niche to the envy of others when it comes to the comity of knowledge and academia by large. The early renowned scholars in our part of the country would have no real count without consideration of our own whether late or living.

Today, the reminiscence of the path so far walked by sons and daughters, leave in my mind and soul, nothing more than having the lingering hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

It is that nostalgia that motivates me to invite paper to pen to draw an admirable image of immeasurable value, ingenuity and dexterity. The wisdom abundantly possessed by my brother and mentor speaks a lot of passion and commitment.

A wisdom so infectious like a virus that many of us are positively affected. He is undoubtedly a role model of high repute who can stand in the mist of many more and still has his head counted as a Fianbii.

Perhaps the biblical connotation surrounding the name Isaac has made our own posses certain uncommon but enviable qualities no man will ever understand. He sacrificed and continue to sacrifice for the prosperity of our city.

Hon Dunee is no longer a elder brother to me. He is no longer a country man. No! he is no longer my associate or kinsman. He is simply my friend and mentor!  A motivation behind my writing and political escapades. Though we do not share the same political ideology, he has always insisted that I become a principle, objective, humble and non violent political activists. His constant monitoring of my "childish" write ups, and his constant encouragement, have placed me in a not too bad a level in the enterprise of writing. I have dedicated all awards I have won through writing to Hon Isaac Dunee.

I still have a lot to learn from him because, I have come nowhere close to his command over the Queen's language eventhough I am a budding communicator and drink and eat language almost always.

On the occasion of his birthday, I am privileged to offer kind words, felicitations and prayers to him. It is my succinct prayer that Issac Dunee will live longer to guide many of us unearth our hidden talents, synergize such talents as catalyst for the development our great FINDLAND CITY.

May I say, a glorious birthday to my mentor!
May God bless our struggles.
