Skill Training, a Strategy to Empower Party Youth

Empowering and developing the youth is the hall mark of developing a community. it is high time we fought to erase the canker of unemployment of the youth. Fighting this uninvited guest of poverty has to do with imparting on our youths, some entrepreneurial skills and once they are energetic and strong enough to work.

We have reached a point where we need to develop our human resource by building a resilient party youth  since it is the heart and future of the party.  Any strategic mobilisation plans must look at how to develop the youth, how to empower them with the requisite skills to enable them become independent economically.

Hon. Alhaji Nurah Issah Danwana the incumbent deputy regional Secretary to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Party of the Upper West region, who is also a hardworking businessman, and entrepreneur having seen the need and the great impact of empowering the youth with entrepreneurial skills to help if not eradicate but to reduce the unemployment and the poverty levels of most of the  youths in the Upper West Region is organising a gargantuan satellite installation programme for all constituencies in the region  under the human resource development strategy for NDC members.

The maiden training is aim at training five people each from all constituencies who will in turn, train all party youth in their respective constituencies. The training is expected to continue to till it captures  many of the party youth in the Region.

The unflinching desire of Hon. Alhaji Nurah to turn most of the youth into entrepreneurs is part of the many investments he has been doing to make the party vibrant. Being a multi business dangote, he believes in teaching people how to fish and not just always feeding them with fish. The south scribe cum entrepreneur believes that there must be a well design strategy to economically empower the party members especially the youths because if we would have a better future it would depend on the caliber of youths that we have trained today.

It is established that NDC did not do enough to empower it's party members.  This affected the party grassroots as many felt abandoned and neglected.  This led to unprecedented voter apathy and its adverse effects on the electoral fortunes of the party.

The party which is still doing reorganization must a matter of necessity find pragmatic ways of reenergising party members.  This is why the known entrepreneur is individually enrolling many training programs for interested party members.  The first being the satellite training program.

The programme is scheduled to come off  at the In-service training centre in Wa on Sunday, 26th of August, 2018 at exactly 1:00am. The training is free of charge. Every course material needed for the training shall be supplied by Upperlink Consult a subsidiary company own by Alhaji Danwanaa.

About seventy party people across the Region are expected to take part in this training.

It is now incumbent to the other party executives be it the national level or the grassroot level to start sowing good seeds into the lives of our youths today as we restructure to capture power come 2020 election. We shall continue to rejuvenate, revamp the love, peace and the unity as well as strengthening the economic lives of the party youths.
