A COLD NOVEMBER DAY- GLADYS MBILLA
A COLD NOVEMBER DAY
When I lay on my bed alone at night
I think of the colourful moments with my might
I reflect on the days and times we were close
But feels nothing more than pain in a doze.
The warmth of your embrace evaporates
Like a salty salt solution that saturates
That which it was meant to make it taste
Instead is transformed into nothing but a waste.
When I remember that cold November day
When you and I together laid, close with much to say
Then it smashes my mood, drenches my dream
And flows away from my emotion like the waters of a stream.
How could I have forgotten you are nothing but a cheat
Who never agrees if needs be, solemnly accept your defeat.
You quenched my emotions, tortured my mood
And you trampled upon my love and endangered my livelihood.
