GOVERNMENT SAVES ¢GH 36,000 FROM MONTHLY COST OF BLACK STARS COACH'S ACCOMMODATION

The Jirapa Municipal Information Service Officer, Joseph Kontomah has revealed that the government of Ghana under president Nana Akufo Add-ons has saved a colossal amount of thirty six thousand Ghana cedis spent on housing the coaches of the senior national team, the Ghana Black stars.
According to him, the government of Ghana through the ministry of youth and sports has over the years been spending that outrageous amount just to house the coach of the Ghana Black Stars.

He intimated that government commitment to protecting the public purse through prudent management and proactive leadership.  He said the intervention government has taken is to provide a permanent housing facility for the coaches than spending that gargantuan amount as a monthly cost for just an accommodation facility for a coach.  It means that the government of Ghana was spending about 4.32billion cedis per year.

Mr. Joseph Kontomah made the revelations while addressing a town hall meeting of the Jirapa Municipal Assembly being held today, Monday, 7th November, 2018.
He was a facilitator on the topic Overview of 2018 Government Policies and Programmes."

Joseph Kontomah after taking some time to explain the interventions and progress of government policies, admonished the people of the Jirapa municipality to disregard false information on social media about some government policies.  He also urges the people to support the government as it delivers its mandate to improve lives.

Expenditure on the sports administration especially on the senior national team has always been a topical issue. Many sports pundits and social commentators have been criticizing the sports ministry and the Ghana Football Association for spending much and not leaving up to expectations.

There are many alleged cases of corruption in our sports administration. This is seriously affecting the confidence of many Ghanaians on the national team.  Many have loss interest in following the senior national team. They contend that the national team spends much of the public purse without delivering the expected results.

The intervention of the government to providing a permanent housing facility as revealed by the Mr. Joseph Kontomah, the Jirapa municipal Information Service Officer, will save the public purse from undue pressure.
