MY BIRTHDAY MESSAGE TO JUSTICE OWUSU NANTWI JAMES JNR OF UEW-K
Denis Andaban Celebrates Owusu Nantwi James JNR, Chief Justice For Opoku Ware Hall, UEW-K.
There are many events in a man's life but there are two most important events that make a man, a man. They are; birth and death.
The major difference between the two is that birth provides an opportunity for one to continue to examine themselves introspectively. That is the reason why we celebrate birthdays. Contrary, death is considered the end of one's life. Though it is celebrated, the celebration is at the blind sight of the person who is supposed to be celebrated.
This is the reason why I consider birthdays very important and sometimes take some time off my busy schedules to ink a piece to celebrate friends, comrades and relatives. We must not only say good about a person when he is no more. He need to say the good and the bad in their live time.
Today is an occasion of prominence and it is only an honour to render this short eulogy to Justice Owusu Nantwi James Jnr, the chief Justice of Opoku Ware Hall. Indeed, this gentleman deserves more than my ink but time and distance are the reasons why I am pouring out these few words to honour him. Justice James, kindly accept my few words.
In students' activism, you come across different people with different levels of admiration. Justice Owusu Nabtwi James Jnr is one individual I admire so much not because of his physical looks but for his firmness, objectivity and tolerance. Having been working with him at the judiciary Board, I can say without any modicum of doubt that he is one of the finest legal luminaries Ghana will be proud of in the not too distant a future. His sagacity in legal analysis and his ability to employ legal psychology on the bench, makes him a symbol of admiration. On several occasions, I told him "Justice James, I like you". As usual of him, he would only give me a scintillating smile and walked away gently in his rope.
As gentle as he is, when it comes to case hearing, he would not hesitate to ensure discipline in court. He doesn't accept any act of indiscipline and disrespect to the court. He would pounce on you and make you feel the heat in court especially when you are cited for contempt or related offences.
In all these, what really qualifies him as my mentor and friend is his versatility. Being a Student parliamentarian, a Justice, Counsel and a man of God amidst an exhaustive academic schedule in an institution like ours, make him a colossal among men with unique abilities and commitment. One would have to be very determined to play all these roles.
Counsel James, on a special day like this, I want to extend my sincerest best wishes and felicitation to you as you celebrate your milestone. All I want to tell you is that, many are looking up to you for the great ideals you are impacting on society. It is the reason, God will grant you wisdom, strength, long life and prosperity to realise all your dreams. I also pray that God open more doors and bring us together again after our days in the University and I will remember our agreement, disagreement and jokes. Such a lovely and tolerant character!!!.
I wish you a very happy birthday. 🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾
